1986 Charvel Model 5
SOLD
The Basics:
This is a Black 1986 Charvel Model 5 guitar. It's an all-original, neck-through, 24 fret guitar with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The fret markers are Mother of Pearl dots. The body wood is Poplar. I have owned this Charvel since 1993. It never leaves my studio and has been meticulously maintained.
Any small dings on this instrument were present when I bought it, but none interfere with the beauty or playability of this incredible instrument. This was my first guitar, but I have to sell a few ("see my other auctions" plug here :). I really struggle with the idea of parting with this one.
Configuration & Electronics:
This Model 5 has Jackson tuners, 5-way "blade-style" pickup selector switch and adjustable Jackson mid-boost active electronics (3rd knob). Neck-thru, quality design & manufacturing makes this guitar look and play like a Soloist.
The 2-Humbucker pickup configuration is a favorite among professionals, for versatility in tone and dynamics. The original 5-way blade switch and Jackson active electronics package provides an outrageous variation of tones: from Str@t to Shred and anything in between. This is the best guitar to have on-hand for a wide variety of musical styles. And it's the one I show people who call Charvels "One trick ponies" or "Heavy metal guitars".
Random Thoughts:
Click on images for a closer look. Strap locks in photos have been replaced with normal strap buttons. Charvel will ship well-padded in a generic hardshell case.

Notes:
The condition of this guitar is not "mint" or "as-new". It is in better condition than when I purchased it in 1993 (polished & oiled). It has not left my studio in that time and has seen little play, since I got my RR-1 in 1999.
The frets have been professionally dressed (cost me $125) and the Kahler set up for low action.
Thank You!
